Hello and thank you for visiting.
My name is Khalid Grant and I am very passionate about solar power and its potential to make a positive impact in the world.
After gaining over 2.0MW worth of experience in design and project management in the Ontario solar industry I decided to apply that knowledge to Barbados. In 2013 I returned to Barbados and founded Solar Genesis Inc. which focuses on design, consulting and project development.
It quickly became apparent that for solar PV to make a significant difference in Barbados, customers needed to be better informed about the technology. As a result SolarBarbados.com was born, to increase the solar PV (photovoltaic) knowledge base of all Barbadians. I strive to achieve this by providing simple, easy to understand articles that teach the basic concepts and answer frequently asked questions about this game-changing technology.
Along with my career and this website, I invest in community solar projects in Canada, crowdfund micro solar projects in Africa, own solar cells in South Africa through a buy-to-lease program and served on the Photovoltaic Installation Advisory Committee of the Samuel Jackman Prescod Polytechnic.
